VIRTUAL - TEENS
Music Makers, a music education program resource for Clubs, was developed in collaboration with BGCA, along with NAMM, The International Music Products Association. This program resource, is designed as a flexible program resource for Clubs that includes a helpful guide, standalone teen component, and four display posters to help you get the word out and generate excitement among Club members.
Career Launch is BGCA's job-readiness and career preparation program for teens. It provides fun and interactive activities for youth ages 13 to 18 to explore a broad range of career areas, match their interest to career clusters and identify the skills and education needed for their particular career path.
Junior Staff is an easy-to-use program for Club teens ages 13 to 18. This program will provide your Club staff and volunteers with tools to guide young people in preparing for a career in Boys & Girls Clubs and/or other service professions. Through participation in Junior Staff, teens will develop interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic and a sense of community engagement while experiencing on-the-job Club work.
Making Minutes Count helps Club members ages 6-18 achieve academic success by providing homework help, tutoring, and high-yield learning activities and encouraging members to become self-directed learners.
Project Learn is intended to complement and reinforce what youth learn during the school day, while creating experiences that invite them to fall in love with learning. Rooted in social-emotional development practices, programs in this area enable all youth to be effective, engaged, adaptive learners who are on track to graduate with a plan for the future.
Summer Brain Gain
All modules were developed in conjunction with a task force of youth development professionals from the field who provided their unique perspectives, insights, and feedback in designing hands-on minds-on activities that are engaging for youth, easy for staff to implement, and adaptable for different Club settings.
Passport to Manhood
Passport to Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility in Club boys ages 8-17. This program represents a targeted effort to engage young men in discussions activities that reinforce positive behavior.
Be A Star
The Be A STAR program, focused on social and emotional learning, gives Club members ages 11-13 the tools they need to enhance their learning, decision making, creativity, relationships and mental health.
SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls in three age groups. Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
The SMART (Skills Mastery and Resilience) Moves program exposes participants to various activities designed to hone their decision-making and critical-thinking skills, as well as learn how to avoid and/or resist alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and premature sexual activity.
Keystoning is the Boys & Girls Club Movement’s most dynamic teen program. It affords teens an opportunity to gain valuable leadership and service experience. Teens conduct activities in four areas: academic success, career exploration, community service, and teen outreach.
Torch Clubs are chartered small-group leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 10-13. orch Club members learn to elect officers and work together to implement activities in four areas: service to Club and community, education, health and fitness and social recreation.
Youth of the Year
Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club members. Each year, one exceptional young person from a Boys & Girls Club rises to the role of National Youth of the Year.
Triple Play, BGCA’s comprehensive health and wellness initiative, strives to improve the overall health of members, ages 6-18, by increasing their daily physical activity, teaching them good nutrition and helping them develop healthy relationships.
